Amanda is the sister of Calvin (book 1) and mother of 10-year-old Sam. I remember Amanda from the first book and was not really enamored with her, as she left Sam with Calvin while she was finding herself after rehab for alcoholism. But this book changed it all. When Amanda and Sam arrive at Calvin and Camilla's beach house for the summer (while she oversees opening a new yoga studio) she finds a naked stranger in the kitchen and calls the police. So Amanda and Grant are off to a rough start. He is Calvin's team mate who is recovering from a serious spinal injury and is not happy to get Amanda as a roommate.
Now Amanda has to deal with naked, grumpy Grant all the time while dealing with the fact her ex wants to get to know his son better and threatens with filing for custody.
Another great book. I had some doubt in the beginning but soon I was engrossed in the story. The people in the books by this author seem so real. I am curious as to whether Amanda's best friend is getting a story. I finished in a couple of hours and closed the book with a satisfied sigh.

Amanda ... I didn't think I was going to like Amanda as she was previously introduced to us in a bit favorable light. Well guess what? she ended up being my favorite! She has made lots of changes in her life.since we last saw her, but her insecurities still drive some of her actions. I loved that we got to catch up with Sam, I loved him in Wrecking Ball. Grant was dreamy after he quit being a knucklehead. This was somewhat of a slow burn and had all the components that make it a great read. I love this author. Hope there is more in this series!
I have loved every book I’ve read by this author and this was no exception. After Wrecking Ball I had been curious about Amanda and I’m so glad she got a story. There were just so many layers to this book. No silly drama or annoying tropes to keep them apart. Just an honest story that felt real. Plus we got to see a lot of Cal and Cam and that’s always a good thing ) Can’t wait for more books!
I enjoyed this book very much that is about Amanda and Grant turning a do not like each other into a feel good relationship. Grant is an NFL Quarterback recouping from surgery at the summer home of a teammate. That teammate just happens to be Amanda's brother and she was told she could stay there for the summer, along with her son Sam, while she starts up her business. She is put off by him from the beginning that she doesn't even want her son around him. But Grant evolves over time and the real Grant comes out and he is sweet, caring and a very sensitive guy. Amanda is locked in on her son and making sure he has the good life she didn't have growing up that she takes no time for herself. Sam's father also makes appearance in the book and causes issues and Sam is just a little boy that most scenes he is in brings a lot to the story. I think the author deals with domestic abuse and addiction responsibly and how it affects everyone. This is the 3rd book I have read by this author and I like her style of writing. Recommend this book and series.
Just when you think you know everything about the romance genre an author will come along and bulldoze it all to hell. The story of Grant and Amanda is my favorite romcom of 2018. Why didn't I know about P Dangelico before now? Holy crappers. Her writing is hilarious, original and definitely on a different level than the norm. As a 6-12 book a month reader, I get a lot of books with crap writing, little color or detail that is necessary to let the reader truly live the words. In Bulldozer I could smell the air, see the sand and feel the heartbeats of the characters. Thanks Paola...I'm a fangirl for life.
Bulldozer by P. Dangelico is the third book in her Hard To Love series. A contemporary romance told in single POV, a standalone and a happily ever after this book was awesome-sauce and then some.
Amanda Shaw is a single mom, successful in her Yoga business partnership with her best friend and ready to open their satellite studio in the Hamptons. Thank goodness her brother, retired NFL footballer Calvin Shaw, has a home here where she and her son can stay while she oversees the renovations and grand opening. What she does NOT expect is the entirely fully naked gloriousness of one Grant Hendricks in the kitchen when she thought the place was empty. One 911 call later and he is still naked and now not overly pleased with the situation.
Grant Decker is taking a break for the summer. From Practice while he is recovering from spinal surgery, from his home in the Hamptons to avoid the paparazzi, and he thought, from people in general until his teammate's sister and son arrive and interrupt his lazy beer drinking, wandering around naked days.
Powerful emotions, funny situations, strong emotional characters with honest flaws that you can still love. This story was well-paced and well-written and this author is definitely holding a spot on my fave authors list! Enjoy!
I love this book. Right from the beginning. With a big, huge, hairy, grouchy, golden, man with a tan and pink heart sunglasses on, standing in the kitchen. Oh boy yes here we go my mind of story.
Then we have a ten year old sweet boy named Sam. Add a black rescue dog named Lucy. Then watch the big, huge tan man connect with Lucy and Sam. Ok so a man, a boy, a dog I'm in.
Then we have Amanda. A strong good mom. Who doesn't know that she is strong and good. I love her so hard. Amanda is hysterical. Her inner thoughts are great.
Then throw in a great friend Cam who is married to Amanda's big brother Cal. Lots of witty banter with Amanda and Cam.
You have a man, a boy, a dog, a friend, a strong woman. Are you in love yet? I am.
If that doesn't do it for you one word Grant. Oh I love grant! That man!!
Then this book is over three hundred pages long. A complete full amazing story. With two epilogues. I loved it!!
Please write fast you talented writer you P. Dangelico!!! I love you too!
